I also suggest looking at Dr. Steven Novella's web page: Scientific Medicine. There is very little evidence supporting many alternative interventions for autism. Recently while in a coffee shop I read a brochure from an alternative medical facility in the building that promised highly unlikely results for treatment of ADHD, autism and other childhood disorders. They promised to do this with chelation, "oxigenation" therapy and acupuncture. I have found no evidence of these treatments having any efficacy in peer reviewed scientific journals. There are no studies meeting a minimal of standards. My best advice is to avoid treatments that rely upon individual testimonials and to seek information from your registered or licensed medical doctor. He or she can guide you to other reliable sources of information.
